Skerryvore's music is built around traditional Scottish folk-rock, but the band's expression encompasses many 'shades,' and they skillfully paint with a broad brush, incorporating elements of country, pop, and cajun, ingredients that many today also consider as Americana.

Scottish Skerryvore has over the past year, and following the release of their latest album "TEMPUS" in spring 2023, gone from being one of Scotland's biggest and most reputable folk-rock bands to being the biggest. "Tempus" went straight into the Scottish Top40 chart and stayed there for three weeks, and the album also made its way to the English Top40 chart, peaking at 23rd place.

The eight-member band hardly needs much introduction as they have long established themselves in Denmark, notably at the Tønder Festival, where, with few exceptions, they have been the 'house band' for over 10 years. But also at Danish venues, they enjoy great success, most recently in November 2023, where they played five concerts, four of which were sold out, and the fifth was very close.

Skerryvore's popularity is reaching the same heights as the legendary Runrig, who have now called it quits, and Skerryvore's tours have become a major draw everywhere. The band has just returned from a month-long tour in the USA, where most of The Tempus Tour USA's 22 concerts were sold out, so things are moving very quickly for the band, which was started in 2005 by brothers Daniel and Martin Gillespie.

Skerryvore has released nine albums, the band has been awarded the "Band of the Year" prize three times at the Scottish Folk Awards, and singer, songwriter, and guitarist Alec Dalglish has twice received the "Songwriter of the Year" award!
