Mikael K has released music under the band name Klondyke for the past twenty years. Now, his first solo album, "STILLE URO," is set to be released during the Tønder Festival 2023.
In the spring of 2024 (April/May), MIKAEL K and his new band, LANDSTRYGERNE, will roam around the small kingdom.
Mikael K has written songs about "Manden på Gulvet" (The Man on the Floor) and "Maren i Kæret" (Maren in the Marsh). He has composed songs about the people he has met and the places he has lived, including songs about Copenhagen and life in the countryside—this time, the songs are closer to home.
New songs come from a mature cisgender white man who contemplates life.
He is not angry, not bitter, but faces things head-on. Ups and downs. The realization that sorrow and joy go hand in hand in life. In his mid-50s, he has lived much of his life in the same way, with his habits and routines, having created his own little paradise. He is in self-imposed isolation, a life enthusiast, a passionate thinker. A man who thrives best on his home turf. When the accounts are settled, what weighs heaviest on the scales?
The new songs cover a wide range, from love anthems to songs about drinking, farmer's remorse, children, breakups, and divorces. There are also songs about being outlawed and scorned, about megalomania and escape—about a quiet restlessness in a mature man's heart.
A subdued Nordic atmosphere for acoustic guitar, strings, and an echo machine envelops the music—in addition to Mikael K's poetic and imaginative lyrics.
During the spring tour of 2024, there will be nothing less than a world premiere of the critically acclaimed troubadour and songwriter's new songs—accompanied by his new band MIKAEL K & LANDSTRYGERNE:
