During the Kolding Light Festival illuminating the city, the venue Godset transforms into a sensory dance space where past, present, and future merge in Blåt Lys - a ball installation. Centered around the electroacoustic universe of artist Sylfide, an interactive dance performance is staged, inviting the audience onto the floor in a magical encounter of light, sound, and movement.

Blåt Lys (Blue Light) - a Ball Installation
Imagine a dark room, a dance floor, and the silhouettes of two glowing figures. In front of you, a couple dances in a close embrace. As they spin, the luminous skirt of the dancer creates ethereal patterns in the darkness. Suddenly, the person beside you rises and steps toward the dance floor. You might feel the urge to follow...

When the Kolding Light Festival lights up the city, the venue Godset is transformed into a sensory dance space where past, present, and future merge in Blåt Lys – a Ball Installation.
At the heart of this interactive dance performance is the electroacoustic world of artist Sylfide, where the audience is invited onto the floor in a magical interplay of light, sound, and movement. In collaboration with the Kolding City Archives, local history is intricately woven into the scenography of the installation. The result is a total experience - where cultural heritage becomes part of a unique sensory encounter and where Nordic folk dance is reimagined in a new setting.

Blåt Lys is a different kind of concert experience, where the electroacoustic soundscape and Sylfide’s crystal-clear vocals blend Nordic folk tones with contemporary songwriting and add elements from the world of pop. The melodies draw inspiration from traditional dance tunes, elegantly wrapped in layers of synthesizers, strings, the real sounds of dancing feet, and enchanting harp tones. The lyrics, too, draw on our shared cultural heritage, exploring themes such as climate grief, femininity, and mental vulnerability - all rooted in the past, yet looking toward the future.

Become part of the experience and witness how the performance unfolds around the ball format, where music, song, light, and dance merge into one - and where the boundaries between audience and performer dissolve, inviting you to dance in the light of cultural history.
