Welcome to a unique experience! A conversation and a concert at the same time – Rasmus Lyberth and Julie Berthelsen. Rasmus and Julie are actually related. Rasmus Lyberth is a cousin of Julie Berthelsen’s father. For many, many years, Rasmus has pursued his career in Greenland, Denmark – and around the world, while Julie has been active in Denmark. Yet by chance, the two have never worked together – that is, until the concerts in the spring of 2025. It was a magnificent experience for both the audience and the artists, and so it was only natural to repeat the success in the spring of 2026.
Julie Berthelsen: “In my world, Rasmus has always been a big star. I grew up as a child in Greenland with him constantly present in the musical world around me – and also when he was in the studio with my father recording music. But most of all, we sang his songs during morning assemblies in elementary school, and we heard him on the radio. That’s how I remember him best. He was our great troubadour. In my adult life, I have met Rasmus several times, at various musical events or at occasions related to Greenland. It has always been warm and cozy in his presence, and I have always felt that he appreciates what I do. When I’ve been on tour and played concerts at different venues, I’ve seen his posters hanging side by side with my own. I have always seen him as someone very special – especially for Greenland, the Greenlandic language, the treasure of songs, and the music. In my eyes, he is a fantastic ambassador for Greenland. Two years ago, he turned 70, and with that came a documentary about him that tells a lot. But not everything. Throughout our respective careers, we have represented the Kingdom of Denmark – and all that lies between the lines. He has mostly done so through his music and singing. I’ve done the same, but I’ve also appeared frequently on TV and radio when there were discussions about Greenland. I see this concert as unique and special, because we will talk about life in the two countries we belong to – for better and for worse. We will talk about everything. About all that lies ‘Between Storm and Silence’.”
