Baby Did a Bad Thing has already revealed that a new album is on the way, and as more singles from the album are released, a clearer and clearer picture is forming of what to expect from the Aarhus-based folk/rock/americana band.
These are songs with eyes lifted, deeper eye contact, and a slightly more hopeful atmosphere. Hopeful. While the album deals with various themes, the entire work is undeniably infused with an undertone of light, optimism, and dreams, according to the band themselves. “If it's not found in the lyrics, then it’s in the music behind them – and it would be incredible if the songs could help inspire a little more hope in those who listen,” says lead singer and songwriter Jonas Fjelsted.
You also can’t overlook Jonas Fjelsted’s voice, which, according to GAFFA reviewer Trinelise Væring, strikes “the perfect balance between masculinity and sensitivity in its expression.” Trinelise Væring also called the band “Denmark’s best alternative country band” in her review of their most recent record.
The carefully crafted vocal harmonies, the many string instruments, and the solid musicianship of all four members (Casper Simonsen on drums, Thomas Friis on bass, Emil Overmark on guitar/pedal steel, and Jonas Fjelsted on vocals/guitar) have also helped the band firmly establish their name on the Danish music scene over the past few years, following a long string of concerts in both 2023 and 2024.
With glowing album and concert reviews – including from GAFFA for their performance at the Tønder Festival – airplay rotation on national stations P4 and P5, and two full-length albums behind them, Baby Did a Bad Thing is now ready to embark on their Hope Tour.
