At the beginning of 2026, Lars Lilholt will once again embark on an intimate solo tour. In just two months, he will visit no fewer than 43 cities all across Denmark. Experience Lars Lilholt with his songs, spiced with stories and anecdotes from his long career—or, as he himself would put it, his increasingly long life.
The setlist includes classics, but there will also be room for the more unknown songs. Tracks from the 2024 album Kosmiske Kindkys will also be part of the repertoire. However, it won’t be entirely solo, as Lars will be joined by his regular pianist, Kristian Fogh.
With no pretensions, Lars Lilholt emphasizes that over the years he has written more than 300 songs in order to discover what they wanted to tell him. It is his way of responding to life. He wrote his first song at the age of 15 in 1968, and he has just kept on pouring out songs ever since. He has played thousands of concerts since his professional debut in 1973—actually even earlier. He says himself that his very first performance was during his first year at Aalborghus Gymnasium at a student evening in 1969. It was with an ironic homemade song, very much in the spirit of the times, called Eat Brown Rice and Make Revolution. He has promised himself never to perform it again.
Lilholt has toured for over 50 years. The only place he has never played in Denmark is on the island of Anholt. He has sold more than 2 million records, released 40 albums, and received 6 Danish Music Awards with the Lars Lilholt Band, as a solo artist, and with Dalton.
In addition, he has been awarded several honorary prizes: the Danish Musicians’ Union Honorary Award, the Music Critics’ Honorary Award, “The Steppe Wolf,” the Skagen Festival Honorary Award, and even the Silkeborg Craftsmen’s Association Honorary Award. The latter made his electrician-trained wife gasp for breath with laughter.
He has also been named Local Favorite of the Year, P4 Artist of the Year, and even had a rose named after him! Look forward to experiencing Lars Lilholt and Kristian Fogh unleashed in 2026.
