Jake Vaadeland & The Sturgeon River Boys

Jake Vaadeland has aged a whole 24 years since his last visit to Denmark! Since then, he and his band, The Sturgeon River Boys, have played countless shows and covered hundreds of thousands of kilometres on the roads across North America and Europe. With endless tours and more than 200 concerts a year under his belt, he has long since gained the experience and confidence that come with a life on the road.

Jake Vaadeland and The Sturgeon River Boys have created a sound of their very own, blending retro country, bluegrass, rockabilly and Americana into what they call “Canadicana”. It’s a musical cocktail with roots in Saskatchewan in western Canada, where Jake and the band are from. It’s a sound that has helped build a career that continues to grow – both at home in Canada and on the international stage.

Jake Vaadeland and The Sturgeon River Boys have now visited Denmark no fewer than five times. They have performed twice at Tønder Festival, as well as appearing at Copenhagen Jazz Festival’s “Friendly Takeover” at Den Røde Plads in Copenhagen. In addition, two longer tours have taken them to some of the country’s finest music venues.

And there’s a good reason they’re coming back.

Jake Vaadeland is a phenomenal musician and singer, as well as an entertainer with a truly unique presence. His stage presence is simply something else. Together with the tight-knit Sturgeon River Boys, he delivers exuberant, energetic and, above all, deeply charming concerts at a high international level.

In other words, this will be a long-awaited reunion with an artist who has spent half his life gathering experience, miles and concert memories – and who is now ready to take the Danish stages once again.

In addition to Jake Vaadeland on vocals, guitar and banjo, the band features Joel Rohs on guitar and vocals, Stephen Williams on upright bass, and Jaxon Lalonde on banjo.
