This one must have fallen into a jazz cradle as a child—because he’s a prodigy. Despite his young age, he has already won the DMA Artist of the Year 2024 and the Ben Webster Prize 2025, and has performed with some of the biggest names on the international jazz scene—most recently American stars Kendrick Scott and Alex Claffy. In November 2024, he released At The Right Time, which Politiken awarded a remarkable five hearts, while Weekendavisen called him “a gift to Danish music.” We proudly present him as a gift to you all!

The 28-year-old North Jutland pianist Rasmus Sørensen has in recent years gained international recognition for his innovative yet accessible sound as both a musician and composer. After participating in a wide range of projects at home and abroad, Rasmus released his acclaimed debut album Traits in 2022, followed by his second album Balancing Act in 2024, featuring American jazz musicians Kendrick Scott and Alex Claffy.

Rasmus Sørensen has been part of the international jazz scene in New York for five years. He became one of the city’s most sought-after jazz pianists, performing with his trio at some of the most renowned jazz clubs, including The Jazz Gallery and 55 Bar. He has also performed his music in the Netherlands, England, Switzerland, Germany, France, Norway, and Sweden, and toured across Europe with various bands. Additionally, he regularly performs with the DR Big Band and is currently active with artists including Mathias Heise, Emma Rawicz, Oilly Wallace, Jaleesa, Kaisa’s Machine, ANYA, and others.
