With his spectacular live energy, powerful vocals, and lyrical depth, Østen has quickly established himself as a strong name both on stage and in the recording studio. At the beginning of 2026, he played some of his biggest indoor shows to date, including a sold-out concert at Store VEGA. In August, together with set designer Rosa Birkedal, he announced a sold-out show at Nørrebro Teater as part of the “Performed Concerts” format. Now, in spring 2027, he will take his upcoming album on the road, visiting 11 venues across the country. He says:

“Right now, we’re working on putting the finishing touches to the album, and I’m so incredibly excited that it will soon be out in the world. I’m really looking forward to looking the audience in the eyes and bringing the new songs to life across the country.”

Østen’s first single from the upcoming album, “Jeg Vil Have Det Hele,” was named the best Danish song of 2025 by Soundvenue, who described it as “not only the most dramatic, most epic song Østen has ever released, but a state of mind you can step into, a way of looking at the world, a philosophy of life.” Østen subsequently followed it up with “Hvor Svært Kan Det Være,” which also received praise from Soundvenue, as well as “Fri og Alene.”

His debut album, Daylight, which explored themes such as rootlessness, depression, and a longing for light, received widespread critical acclaim. Politiken awarded it five hearts and described the album as “personal and enduring pop poetry,” while Soundvenue called it “a masterclass in shaping musical arcs of tension with millimetre precision” and included it on its list of the best Danish albums of the year.

Over the summer, Østen performed at, among others, Tivoli Fredagsrock, NorthSide Festival, and Tinderbox, receiving widespread praise from critics:
