Caroline Henderson

Caroline Henderson and Nikolaj Hess have shared several successful collaborations, both on stage and on record. Together, they have played to sold-out concert halls, while year after year they fill churches with beautiful music during Caroline Henderson’s popular Christmas concerts. Speaking about their upcoming duo concerts, Caroline Henderson says:

“I’m incredibly excited to play as a duo again and get a little closer to the audience. More eye-to-eye. More intimacy. More freedom. Being able to play as a duo with Nikolaj Hess is a gift. We’re looking forward to picking some gems from my repertoire, discovering new songs and rediscovering old ones.

And to not quite knowing in advance where the concert will end up. Because that’s one of the things I love about the duo format: the opportunity to let the setlist change from concert to concert. To feel the room, the audience and the atmosphere on any given night, and let that help determine what we play. That’s when I think music becomes most alive. When you dare to let go of a little of the control and listen to each other – and to the people in the room. For me, it ultimately comes down to getting to the heart of the music. Over the years, Caroline Henderson has established herself as one of the strongest singers in recent Danish music history, with a musical expression drawing inspiration from jazz, blues, pop and electronic sounds. Most recently, she released the critically acclaimed album Nectar and Ambrosia in 2025, and in 2026 she is appearing in her musical one-woman show Mit liv som Hun. Her career spans everything from singing to acting, both on stage and in television series, in Denmark and internationally.

Nikolaj Hess is an award-winning pianist, composer and internationally acclaimed jazz musician. With roots in jazz, classical music and Scandinavian folk music, he has developed a distinctive musical voice that moves between Nordic jazz, post-bop, contemporary classical music and global musical traditions.
