The Aarhus-based band Bogfinkevej completed their first nationwide tour in over 5 years in the spring of 2025. It exceeded all expectations, and now the band has finally gained the courage to take it even further – with a forthcoming live album, a new concept, and a new tour coming in the spring of 2026!
On April 12, 2024, Bogfinkevej released the surprise EP 'Længe Fin'. Six strong tracks that, with their usual Jutlandic confidence, guide the listener through a universe of drinking anthems, overflowing ashtrays, and ecstatic love declarations.
Although the sound on 'Længe Fin' is darker and more mature than its predecessors, 'Helt Stil' (2017) and 'BVF' (2019), the work still contains the band’s signature ingredients: catchy hooks, poetic lyrics, and self-ironic reflections. 'Længe Fin' is a long and educational drinking session, pulling you through every state of mind from melancholy to euphoric happiness – but without leaving you with a hangover the next day. But it all started a little over nine years ago…
Back in 2016, in a hip-hop collective on Bogfinkevej, friends Lau, Mads, and Søren Karim laid the foundation for what would soon become their musical breakthrough. A singer with a guitar and two of Aarhus’ best rappers formed a trio, named after the street where they lived, and already with their first release, "Smilets By" (“City of Smiles”), they united the people of Aarhus in a wave of local-patriotic sing-along.
In 2017, Bogfinkevej released their first EP, 'Helt Stil', which at the time of writing has more than 9 million streams on Spotify. The EP includes tracks such as "Smilets By", "Iben Hjejle", and "Solen Skinner Altid På Den Anden Side Af Skyerne" (feat. Wafande). In the following years, Bogfinkevej performed at festivals such as Roskilde, SPOT, and Smukfest, and toured with Wafande and later with TV-2.
The trio’s debut album, BFV, was released in 2019 with guest verses from L.O.C., Steffen Brandt, Jokeren, Kejser A, and Loke Deph. The album stands in many ways as a modern classic within new Danish hip-hop, was nominated for Best Hip-Hop Album of the Year at the GAFFA Awards, and also contains a large part of the band’s many live favorites.
In recent years, Bogfinkevej has focused on releasing a steady flow of singles – including Den Permanente (produced by Thøger Dixgaard), "Energi", "1 Enkelt", "Gør Det For Mig Selv", "Et Sekund, Kendt", "Glad", and "Hvem Var Du Da Du Var".
