The Danish pianist and composer Søren Bebe is an international star, and his trio is one of the most sought-after and most streamed jazz trios in all of Europe. He is not without reason often compared to Nordic jazz icons such as Esbjörn Svensson and Tord Gustavsen.

With his super trio, he has for many years performed on some of the world’s biggest jazz stages. The three highly skilled musicians have played together since 2007 and released a long series of critically acclaimed albums. In January 2026, the trio released its ninth album, Gratitude. It is heavenly beautiful acoustic music that caresses every single note. It is jazz-infused mindfulness that deserves a sky full of stars and a place on the eternal music shelf.

Gratitude is the follow-up to the trio’s critically acclaimed and Danish Music Award-nominated album Here Now (2023), which received, among others, a six-star review from the French publication Paris-Move:
“Søren Bebe masters the art of melody to perfection and draws from the folklore of his culture. A graceful, elegant, poetic album of understated richness.”

More than half a million people listen to the trio’s music every month. It draws inspiration from Scandinavian jazz, folk music, and the Danish hymn tradition, delivered with exceptional musical abundance by the three musicians: Søren Bebe on piano, bassist Kasper Tagel, and Norwegian drum phenomenon Knut Finsrud.

Line-up:
Søren Bebe: grand piano
Kasper Tagel: bass
Knut Finsrud: drums

Reviews:
Niels Overgård from JazzNyt: “It is jazzy mindfulness. The sound is unbelievably good. The music lives up to it. It is peace for the soul. It is music with a healing perspective. Beautiful.”

UK Vibe: “Gratitude is a stunningly poised, quietly beautiful record that speaks in measured tones yet resonates deeply… This is a beautiful, deeply human album, and a career high point for this wonderful trio.” (5/5 stars)

TheJazzman.com: “Perhaps the ultimate expression of the Bebe Trio’s sound. They have distilled the essence of their music and have ‘polished the diamond’ to sparkling perfection.”

Musikreviews.de: “One of the most beautiful acoustic jazz works of the year.”

Jazznyt.blogspot: “Søren Bebe has a sense for letting grandeur gently drift down from the sky like light snowflakes and allowing them to settle into the music. This is heard in full on the title track Gratitude, which is also the final piece on the LP. Just before that, the trio performs their successful version of the ever-beautiful Throw It Away, written by Abbey Lincoln. Søren Bebe explains that the album was created out of gratitude towards the trio’s many dedicated listeners, for the joy of making music together, and ultimately for being able to do what he loves most: playing and creating music.

He has drawn inspiration from the nature surrounding him, heard in the winter-crackling Frostblad and the following Tystrup Sø, named after the lake near Sorø where Søren Bebe lives. There is also room for Billy Joel’s And So It Goes from 1989. A wise choice to let the trio perform it so that it sounds like a farewell song echoing with longing and melancholy. It is very elegant.”
