Mika Vandborg

Audiences have absolutely loved the band, which has a remarkable ability to reach beyond the stage while drawing the audience into an intimate, engaging and truly first-class concert experience.

Blues is the starting point, but there are plenty of other facets. BLAA Vandborg explores everything from Rock & Roll and Soul to funky grooves, with a repertoire consisting of both original material and carefully chosen covers.

Alongside Mika is singer, guitarist and the band’s driving force, Morten Larsen. A musician largely unknown to the wider public, but a powerful singer and performer with an impressive 53 years on the road.

Then there is one of Europe’s finest and most sought-after keyboard players, Dutchman Bob Fridzema, who has toured all over the world with some of the biggest names in rock and blues including Walter Trout, Devon Allman, Glenn Hughes, Bernie Marsden, Bernard Allison, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Dana Fuchs and many more.

On bass is none other than Henrik SP Poulsen, who over the past four decades has played with virtually everyone on the Danish music scene from Elevatordrengene/Helmig, Sko/Torp, Sanne, Gnags, OneTwo and Sebastian to SP/Just/Frost. The list is almost endless.

Behind the drums is Jakob Rønlov, who, besides being the drummer in Jesper Binzer’s band, has toured extensively throughout Europe with Walter Trout as well as various Swedish artists — including Swedish actor Peter Stormare, who also has a career in music.

Over the years, Mika Vandborg has built an impressive career, both performing with artists such as Gnags, Love Shop, Dicte, Claus Hempler and Ida Nielsen, among many others, and under his own name as a solo artist and songwriter. And, of course, alongside his friend Søren Andersen in Electric Guitars.
