Her music moves through an atmospheric landscape of jazzy nuances, bluish tones, and poetic melancholy. Katrine’s distinctive voice and ability to blend genres create a sound that feels both timeless and deeply present.

In 2023, Katrine Schmidt was honored with the Danish Music Awards “Out of the Blue Prize” for her debut album Laying My Burdens Down. Now, the singer with the powerful voice is ready with her second album – and we predict that 2026 will be a big year for Katrine!

Her music moves through an atmospheric landscape of jazzy nuances, bluish tones, and poetic melancholy. Katrine’s distinctive voice and ability to blend genres create a sound that feels both timeless and deeply present.

Since the release of her debut album, Katrine Schmidt has undergone significant development, both personally and musically. A few years ago, she lost her father to cancer – a grief she has met with rare openness and honesty, including in the deeply personal song “Fight On”, performed live on Go’ Morgen Danmark shortly before his passing. Alongside this sorrow, Katrine experienced one of life’s greatest miracles – becoming a mother for the first time. These two contrasting life events – the loss of a parent and the joy of becoming one – have unfolded side by side, giving her music a new emotional depth and maturity.

The human contrasts of grief, hope, love, and raw presence make her music both relatable and resonant. Katrine Schmidt manages to transform her own experiences into songs that speak to something universal in all of us.

Joining her on stage is a strong lineup of musicians: Johannes Aaen Jensen, Mark Kühn, Søren Schack, Aske Stubkjær Madsen, and Mikkel Grue.
