Jonah Blacksmith unveils new album and autumn tour just around the corner
The Thy-based band will release its fourth album in October – their first in five years. Shortly after, the tour bus will be filled up with fuel, instruments, and stuffed animals as the band, for the first time in a long while, visits many of the kingdom’s wonderful regional venues. The tour kicks off with a bang on October 22, 2025.

After the overwhelming success of this spring’s film concerts at Jyske Bank Boxen and Royal Arena, the seven-piece band has been in the studio, pouring time and love into a batch of newly written songs about people and lived lives.

Simon Alstrup says:
“We’ve made a beautiful and vibrant record that marks a new and slightly different take on our sound, and on writing meaningful pop-folk songs. Quite early in the process, we knew we wanted to present this brand-new material in slightly more intimate settings than the big stages we’ve been fortunate enough – and have loved – to play in recent years. In a way, we wanted to give something back to the smaller venues that, over time, have provided the setting and made a huge difference for us.”

Thomas Alstrup adds:
“The sweaty, intense closeness you can create together with the audience in those slightly smaller venues is something truly special. It’s a mood and energy that shaped us to a great extent, and one we’re incredibly excited to revisit. Especially with our new songs! We’re quite anxious about the reception – it’d be a lie to say otherwise – and we hope people will want to come out and experience the new album in a lively, energetic setting – naturally with a good balance between new and older songs. Yes, in every way it’s an autumn the band is tremendously looking forward to. New album. New tour. It doesn’t really get much wilder than that!”

Jonah Blacksmith has its heart and roots in Northwest Jutland, and consists of brothers Thomas and Simon Alstrup, along with Søren Bigum, Lasse Alstrup, Jon Bisgaard Kjeldsen, Søren Poulsen, and Thor Kortegaard.

Ticket sales start on Wednesday the 3rd of September at 10.
