Godset Songwriter

The summer is now over, and we are once again ready to open the doors to Godset Songwriter featuring three fantastic artists!

Welcome to Godset Songwriter, where you can experience exciting songwriters from the budding music scene.

We present both artists who have already established themselves on the Danish music scene and those who are just beneath the surface, possibly the next ones to take on bigger stages.

The lineup on a Godset Songwriter night is a mix of external names and local artists, totaling three, each performing a set typically in an acoustic setup.

The lineup of the night:

SØREN MANSCHER
Søren Manscher debuted in 2019 as a Danish-language solo artist with the album Det Er Balancerne, Der Holder Sammen På Det Hele (It’s the Balances That Hold Everything Together). At the same time, he toured extensively around the country as support for Søren Huss. Before that, Søren Manscher had been active in the underground scene with two English-language bands – Harmonics and Oh Lois. With his solo debut, he truly made a name for himself and received high praise in media outlets such as Politiken and Gaffa, while the catchy single “Jeg ser lagener blafre i vinden” (“I See Sheets Fluttering in the Wind”) was named “hit tip of the week” on P4 Play. Søren Manscher is also the regular guitarist in Brimheim’s live band.

CASPER HEJLESEN
Casper Hejlesen is a young award-winning guitarist and composer from North Jutland. He has received several awards and recognition for his musical work – including his critically acclaimed debut album Overture, released in 2020. In the autumn of 2019, he was named “Nordjyske Jazz Artist of the Year” and in 2020 he received “Klaverstemmerens Musikpris” (The Piano Tuner’s Music Prize).

Rooted in Nordic tonal landscapes and simple melodies, the listener is drawn into a musical journey that also pays tribute to American improvisational jazz traditions. The young composer demonstrates a strong narrative ability, portraying moods ranging from rural idyll to the hectic life of the city.

FILIPPA ARENDT
Filippa Arendt is a songwriter from Kolding who creates a unique musical universe characterized by melancholy. Her honest lyrics convey deep emotions that resonate with the listener. The simple yet atmospheric instrumentation adds a sense of vulnerability, making each song an intimate experience. Previously, Filippa performed solo with vocals and guitar, but she now shares the stage with pianist Gustav Konradsen, expanding her sonic landscape. Filippa is inspired by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Adrienne Lenker, Fiona Apple, and Amy Winehouse.
