Barselona has been a central part of Denmark’s music landscape for ten years now. Rud Aslak and Rasmus Theodor made their debut with not just one, but two debut albums: “Legebørn” and “Hjertebank”, and have since released music at an unmatched frequency alongside an almost constant touring schedule.

Their fourth album, “Væbnet Hjerte”, was released in September 2023 and received a true shower of stars from critics, who described it as both “a portrait of a generation,” “the band’s best to date,” and their “most fully realized album.”

Now Barselona is back again. In 2026, they founded their own record label, RRekord, and the first release is the single “Udsving”, which on its release day, February 20, was selected as P3’s “Uundgåelige” (Track of the Week). “Udsving” will also appear on an upcoming album set for release in autumn 2026.

Rud and Rasmus have collaborated with the fast-rising songwriter Karoline Funder, who sings a duet on “Mørket falder ind”, released as a single in March 2026 in connection with Barselona’s two long-sold-out “60 Minutes” concerts with Copenhagen Phil.

At the band’s numerous concerts across venues and festivals around the country, Barselona has received glowing reviews. Soundvenue wrote, among other things, “Rud Aslak was born to be the frontman of his generation’s biggest rock band,” and their well-attended shows at Arena, Roskilde Festival, and the main stage at Northside have been major, unifying highlights.

Live, Barselona delivers a rock concert that spans widely and contains it all — from big singalong choruses, bass-heavy beats, and high-speed solos to heartfelt piano ballads and communal singing.
